October 16, 2019 – “Imagine a Day Without Water” is Theme for Oct. 23rd Fayetteville Trivia Night: Event co-sponsored by Fossil Cove Brewing Company and Beaver Water District

For immediate Release-Oct. 16, 2019

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, “Water” will be the theme for a special Trivia Night in observance of “Imagine A Day Without Water” at Fossil Cove Brewing Co., 1946 N. Birch Ave., in Fayetteville, Ark. This is the third year Fossil Cove and Beaver Water District (BWD) have partnered on a “Water Trivia” Night and participated in the annual “Imagine A Day Without Water” campaign, launched in 2015 to secure a sustainable water future (imagineadaywithoutwater.org).

“Fossil Cove Staff have been enthusiastic about promoting ‘Imagine A Day Without Water’ and planning Water Trivia Night to help raise awareness about the value of water and the Public Water Supply for over 530,000 people in Northwest Arkansas, Beaver Lake,” said Dot Neely, BWD’s Education Coordinator. “Many folks don’t realize accessible freshwater resources are surprisingly limited (less than 0.4% of all the water on Earth). And most of us never stop to think about where our drinking water comes from or why we should care. We just expect high quality, clean, safe water to pour from our faucets whenever we want because, for over 50 years, Beaver Water District and other regional drinking water providers have done such a great job making an abundant amount of water available for use at all times.”

Neely and Andrew Blann, Fossil Cove Brewing Co. Manager, are collaborating on plans for the event, which will be the first Trivia Night after a 2-week break. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning teams include “No Water No Beer”Ò T-shirts, pint glasses, and can koozies from the American Water Works Association. Additional BWD branded items, such as collapsible silicone pet bowls, pet waste bag dispensers, reusable water bottles and more, will be available for all “Water Trivia” Night participants.

BWD and Fossil Cove have joined with many elected officials, water utilities, community leaders, and businesses throughout the United States to participate in the fifth annual Imagine a Day Without Water, a nationwide day of advocacy and education about how valuable and essential water is in all aspects of life. Led by the Value of Water Campaign (thevalueofwater.org), hundreds of organizations across the country will host events aimed at raising awareness about the crucial need for investment in our nation’s water infrastructure to ensure that no American community is left without safe and reliable water

Andrew Blann, Fossil Cove Brewing Co. Manager, said, “Fossil Cove is excited to partner with Beaver Water District to raise awareness of water issues affecting our community and educate customers about their water source. Fossil Cove utilizes the high-quality water available from Beaver Water District in all its brewing operations. BWD is a key reason we’re able to brew high-quality beer and they greatly contribute to the quality of life found throughout the Northwest Arkansas region. We’re happy to partner with them on Imagine a Day Without Water.”

BWD’s mission is to serve our customers’ needs by providing high quality drinking water that meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and is economically priced consistent with our quality standards. BWD supplies clean, safe drinking water, sourced from Beaver Lake to Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. These cities in Northwest Arkansas then pump, store, distribute and resell the water to their customers — more than 358,000 people and industries in their cities and surrounding areas. Fossil Cove Brewing Co. noted that the turnout for Water Trivia may be greater than usual and seating is limited, so bring a chair and plan to arrive before or by 6:30 p.m. Trivia begins at 7 p.m.
