Become a Beaver Believer — Conserve Water in NWA

At Beaver Water District, our vision is to support the quality of life and growth of Northwest Arkansas by protecting Beaver Lake—our source of drinking water. With 38 new neighbors arriving every day, conserving both water quality and quantity has never been more important. That’s why we started the Beaver Believers program. Families, schools, and businesses can join by taking simple steps like fixing leaks, adjusting sprinklers, or turning off the tap. By becoming a Beaver Believer, you’re not just saving water—you’re helping lead a movement to protect Beaver Lake and ensure clean, sustainable water for generations to come.

Your Guide to Saving Water While Keeping Your Lawn Green

Deep and infrequent watering helps grass grow strong roots, so it stays healthy and resilient. Stick to this watering schedule to help the grass soak up more water, prevent runoff, and keep your lawn green without wasting water. Our goal is threefold:

  1. No Water Wednesdays – Give Beaver Lake a break!
  2. Even/odd watering schedule – Water smart, go by the number on your part!
  3. Do not water after 9:00 am – Too late and it evaporates!

However, this does not mean you must water on these days. Weather conditions, soil moisture, and more can determine the amount of water needed. Consider asking an irrigation professional about smart technologies like weather sensors, pressure compensating irrigation practices, and flow meters to prevent overwatering.
