Beaver Water District

From the Lake, For the Future
Water Conservation in NWA

At Beaver Water District, our vision is to support the quality of life and economic growth of Northwest Arkansas by preserving the quality of our drinking water source, Beaver Lake. It’s time now to protect the quantity. The latest data from Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning says that on average, the population increases by 38 people daily in our region! The growth calls for heightened water conservation practices, and we believe by working together we can achieve that goal. Our Beaver Believers program focuses on protecting not only the quality of Beaver Lake, but the quantity. By being a Beaver Believer, you are creating a water conservation ethos in your community and leading the effort to preserve Beaver Lake for our future.

Your Guide to Saving Water While Keeping Your Lawn Green

Deep and infrequent watering helps grass grow strong roots, so it stays healthy and resilient. Stick to this watering schedule to help the grass soak up more water, prevent runoff, and keep your lawn green without wasting water. Our goal is threefold:

  1. No Water Wednesdays – Give Beaver Lake a break!
  2. Even/odd watering schedule – Water smart, go by the number on your part!
  3. Do not water after 9:00am – Too late and it evaporates!
