Lane Crider, CEO of Beaver Water District (BWD), today announced a Drinking Water Week Kickoff Party & Press Conference to be held at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, May 6th, at BWD offices and Water Education Center, 301 N. Primrose Road, Lowell, AR. The event recognizes National Drinking Water Week, which is May 5-11. Bill Watkins, Beaver Water District board president, and Crider will officiate the event. BWD will showcase a Your Water For Life public service campaign.
“We want the public to know they can trust the clean, safe, affordable water Beaver Water District supplies to them,” Crider said. “We want them to know it’s their water for life. It’s for drinking, for use at home, for all needs that contribute to their lives, lifestyles, and businesses in Northwest Arkansas. We’ve been doing this work for over 50 years. The water is sourced from Beaver Lake, cleaned for drinking by Beaver Water District, and then provided to them by our hometown water departments – Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville.”
This year diversity and inclusion are in the spotlight. Guest speakers will include Al Lopez (a.k.a. Papa Rap) of One Community and Melisa Laelan, CEO of the Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese. The public and media are invited to attend. Expect refreshments and a commemorative reusable water tumbler and straw.
BWD’s mission is to serve our customers’ needs by providing high quality drinking water that meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and is economically priced consistent with our quality standards.
