LakeSmart
Attention Beaver Lake Residents
In 2009, representatives from several organizations got together to create LakeSmart, a program to educate Beaver Lake residents and watershed residents. Experts conducted workshops, created an information handbook, and recorded useful training videos tackling subjects ranging from managing residential property to minimize erosion and safeguard water quality to offering tips about managing your home septic system.
LakeSmart is sponsored by Beaver Water District, Ozarks Water Watch (OWW), the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Association for Beaver Lake Environment. For more information or to participate in the LakeSmart program, call Angela Danovi of OWW, LakeSmart coordinator, at 479-295-7717 or email adanovi@ozarkswaterwatch.org.
Coming Up! A LakeSmart Workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd, at the Prairie Creek Community Center, 14432 E. Highway 12, Rogers (about 3 miles east of the city). The resources and meeting are free, but pre-registration is requested. Contact Angela to register today!
